ESSCP update in response to the Covid-19 outbreak

Date: Thursday, 19th Mar 2020 | Category: General

In response to government guidelines and partners business continuity planning, the East Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership (ESSCP) are moving to either ‘virtual’ meetings, or the cancellation of non-essential meetings and training, over the forthcoming months until the end of June. We will in due course review the situation and decide if any further postponement of meetings or training is required. Individual meeting members will be advised of either the cancellation, or format change, of their meeting.

The next few months will present new challenges to the organisations in our partnership, which we know will be handled in a professional and efficient manner by all, however we would ask all agencies to be vigilant in recognising and responding to potential additional safeguarding demands arising from the pandemic. The ESSCP team will continue to focus on Practice Reviews, the risks associated with the current changes and raising awareness of those risks. We are keen to reaffirm our support to frontline services and schools and if there are any areas in which we can help make a difference or address communication blockages, please do get in touch.
