LSCB Annual Report and Business Plan
It is a statutory requirement that Safeguarding Partnerships publish an annual report on the effectiveness of child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the local area. The report should provide a rigorous and transparent assessment of the performance and effectiveness of local services.
The latest Annual Report relates to the work of the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) in 2018-19. There is also a separate ‘Safeguarding Context’ document which provides a summary of key safeguarding performance information.
In our latest report, our Chair, Reg Hooke states:
“Due to changes in legislation, this is the last annual report of the East Sussex Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB). It covers the year April 2018 to March 2019. In September 2019 East Sussex will move to new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements under the Children and Social Work Act 2017.
It is testament to the effectiveness and development of the LSCB over the years, and the high standard of multi-agency working and scrutiny across the County, that in practical terms the new arrangements will be essentially the same as we currently have. Recent inspections of Children’s Social Care, Sussex Police, Health and other partners have all commented positively on the value and contribution the LSCB has made to effective working and improving practices to keep children safe”.

The ESSCP will be holding a Development Day in 2020 to shape a new three-year Business Plan which will set out work priorities going forward.
