Safeguarding partners in Sussex are involved in an exciting new pilot with the Home Office which brings decision making about whether children are victims of modern slavery into existing safeguarding structures. The National Referral Mechanism (NRM) is used to identify all potential victims as part of our legal duties under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and from March 2023 all new referrals will be considered by local NRM decision making panels.
You are invited to learn more about the pilot and how it will impact on the children we work with at a lunchtime seminar on Monday 27 February between 11.00 – 12.30.
PLEASE NOTE: we will be recording the briefing so that it can be posted on Single Source for others to view. We assume participant’s consent unless we hear otherwise.
