Date: Wednesday, 16th Mar 2022 | Category: General

We are very pleased to confirm formally that following a public competition Chris Robson is now the Independent Chair and Scrutineer for the East Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership. We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Partnership; he brings significant skills and experience to the role and we look forward to working with him. Chris has sent us the message below to send on to you all.

Dear Board Members,

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to act as your Independent Chair & Scrutineer.  I know many of you through the work I do in Brighton and West Sussex but I look forward to meeting others who I hope will help me in the role. I believe that we have a really challenging period ahead of us as we move out of the pandemic, new and old threats to our children are already apparent.  I have been made to feel really welcome by the whole partnership so far and I’m excited about the difference we can make for our children and their families.  I promise to challenge and support you as we strive to improve safeguarding across East Sussex.

Chris.

Welcome Chris, and many thanks to everyone involved in the appointment process, especially members of the Youth Cabinet/East Sussex Children in Care Council.

Regards,

ESSCP Safeguarding Leads (Naomi Ellis, Deputy Director Quality, Safeguarding & Looked After Children, Sussex CCG, Alison Jeffery, Director of Children’s Services, ESCC, Jon Hull, Detective Superintendent, Sussex Police)
