Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Boards are pleased to announce that we will soon be launching a NEW Sussex Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures website.

This website will replace the current Sussex Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures site. The policy sets out the approach taken to adult safeguarding across Sussex. The procedures explain how agencies should work together to follow the Sussex Safeguarding Adults Policy. These procedures represent the standards for good practice in adult safeguarding in Sussex and have been endorsed by Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Boards.

Annie Callanan, Independent Chair of the West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board, and Seona Douglas, Independent Chair of the Brighton & Hove and East Sussex Safeguarding Adults Boards, said: “The new website will provide easier access to the guidance and expectations in line with our statutory safeguarding responsibilities. This information informs and helps safeguarding practice to be consistent and current and in doing so, best supports adults who are experiencing or at risk of abuse and/or neglect, which we’re aware is a shared ambition across the partnerships”.

Further details regarding the new website, including the new website URL address, will follow in due course. In the meantime, please do continue to use the current website.

Safeguarding Adults Boards are the strategic lead for safeguarding adults in their area. Each Safeguarding Adults Board is comprised of an Independent Chair, the Local Authority, Integrated Care Board, Police, and a range of other agencies.
