New ESSCP Independent Chair

Date: Tuesday, 01st Feb 2022 | Category: General

The ESSCP statutory partners are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Robson as the Independent Chair and Scrutineer for the East Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership, following a public recruitment process to replace Reg Hooke on his retirement from this role. Chris brings significant experience and skills to the work of the Partnership and, as the current Chair and Scrutineer for West Sussex and Brighton and Hove, will also be well placed to work with colleagues across Sussex to facilitate joint working where that may be helpful. We look forward to working with Chris, whose summary biography can be read here.

We would also like to put on record our thanks to Reg Hooke, whose last meeting as Board Chair was on the 20 January 2022, both for delaying slightly his retirement from the role and most importantly for the huge contribution he has made to the work of the Safeguarding Partnership over a number of years. Reg has been a tremendous champion for the work of the Partnership and earned the respect of a wide range of stakeholders across the county. We are very grateful for his support as Chair and Scrutineer and wish him well for the future.
