Date: Thursday, 30th Sep 2021 | Category: General

We’d really appreciate if you could promote and distribute the Ready, Steady, Go! information pack to East Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership colleagues, families and any other partners you feel relevant please.

The NHS family healthy weights and lifestyle programme Ready, Steady, Go!  is an 8-session programme for families of children aged 4-11 in East Sussex who are looking to help their child achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

  • We have face to face groups starting at the end of September at High Cliff Academy in Newhaven, and October at The Baird Primary Academy in Hastings.  We have online groups too!
  • We’d also like to invite you to FAMILIES- WORKOUT LIVE WITH RSG! on Facebook Live for our live stream @ESSchoolHealth Wednesday 29th September 4.15pm – parents and carers, meet the RSG team and finish the school day on a fitness high!
  • We have attached our Ready, Steady, Go stakeholder communications pack to this email.  This includes information about our programme, when groups are running, how to refer families to the programme and videos and images that you can share with families on social media or newsletters.
  • Want more information and support around how to support families to access this programme?  We know there are many professionals and volunteers working across East Sussex who are making key contacts and having important conversations with families that may benefit from accessing Ready, Steady, Go!

Join us at one of our monthly online MS Teams sessions where we’ll talk you through the programme, how to refer families and some key conversation points when talking about the challenging topic of raising the issue of weight.  If you want any other information please don’t hesitate to contact eve.allcock@nhs.net or kimberley.pocock@nhs.net) who is leading the RSG programme. Dates of sessions include:

  • Tuesday, 26 October 10.30-11.30am
  • Monday, 29 November 4-5pm
  • Thursday, 16 December 2-3pm

Please feel free to distribute this information and communications pack to colleagues and contacts in other organisations who you know are working with children and families in East Sussex.  You play a crucial role in supporting families to know about and access this programme!
